This wood species is not listed in the CITES Appendices, but is on the IUCN Red List as vulnerable due to a population reduction of over 20% in the past three generations, caused by a decline in its natural range. These Narra handles are new old stock/ Because of its vulnerable status, we will not be making any more Narra tampers until sustainable reforestation measures have ensured this beautiful species's chances for long-term survival.

Narra is a Southeast Asian hardwood with a warm golden-brown to reddish color, often showing dramatic figure and natural luster. Moderately hard, dimensionally stable, and historically prized across the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
