The Ball is a variation on the Palm — easy grip, satisfying heft, and a low centre of gravity that works across all tamper base sizes. A Reg experiment from the early years that's no longer in production.

Ball in Wenge
This wood species is not listed in the CITES Appendices, but is on the IUCN Red List. It is listed as endangered due to a population reduction of over 50% in the past three generations, caused by a decline in its natural range, and exploitation. These Wenge handles are new old stock. Because of its vulnerable status, we will not be making any more Wenge tampers until sustainable reforestation measures have ensured this beautiful species's chances for long-term survival.

Engraving

We use an industrial CO2 laser to engrave our handles and bases with your custom designs. Most handles can be engraved on the top and along the side. We can even engrave bases!

When you select this option, we'll reach out to discuss your design ideas and how to achieve them. Please note: $25 covers file preparation and one engraving per location.

About Wenge
Wenge is one of the darkest hardwoods in the world — nearly black with fine, near-parallel grain lines. Exceptionally hard and heavy, harder than oak, with grain you can read more than feel after finishing. A serious wood for a serious tamper.
