Our Signature handle made Reg famous. The choice of many world barista champions and countless competitors, its ergonomic design fits perfectly in your hand. This helps you find just the right tamping pressure to produce a level, evenly distributed coffee bed.

When it comes to choosing the right material for a coffee tamper, bubinga stands out for its exceptional qualities. Bubinga not only exudes a timeless elegance but also offers a perfect balance of durability and weight, allowing baristas to achieve that ideal tamp every time.

All our wood handles are artisan-crafted by Reg himself, and finished by hand using Reg's proprietary mixture of food-safe natural finishes. They develop a soft, satin patina with use.

Note:
Please note that this listing is for a handle only. Handles and bases must be specified individually to create a complete tamper. We'll assemble it for you before shipping.

Sustainability:
These tampers are new old stock, likely made by Reg in the 2000s or 2010s. As of 2017, Bubinga, or African Rosewood, was placed on the endangered species list, so we've stopped using it for new tampers.

We will not make any more unless reforestation efforts succeed in repopulating this beautiful tree through sustainable practices. If you want to read more about Bubinga, please check out this article in Wood Database.
