This is a variation of the Signature Tall, the tamper that made Reg famous. This gives you a bit more handle to grab onto, helping ensure a flat coffee bed and that you'll find just the right tamping pressure.
Bubinga is an African hardwood that exudes a certain elegance, but also offers a perfect balance of durability and weight, allowing you to achieve that ideal tamp every time.
All our wood handles are artisan-crafted by Reg himself, and finished by hand using Reg's proprietary mixture of food-safe natural finishes. They start out a bit glossy but develop a soft, satin patina with use.

Sustainability:
These tampers are new old stock, likely made by Reg in the 2000s or 2010s. As of 2017, Bubinga, or African Rosewood, was placed on the endangered species list. We've stopped using it for that reason, so once it's gone, it's gone.
