Narra is a hardwood from Southeast Asia. Beyond its beauty, Narra's density makes it particularly well-suited for use in tampers.
All our wood handles are artisan-crafted by Reg himself, and finished by hand using Reg's proprietary mixture of food-safe natural finishes. They develop a soft, satin patina with use.

These Narra handles are new old stock, crafted by Reg in the 2000s or 2010s and engraved on the side and top. Because of its vulnerable status, we will not be making any more Narra tampers until sustainable reforestation measures have ensured this beautiful species's chances for long-term survival. Once they're gone, they're gone.
Sustainability:
This wood species is not listed in the CITES Appendices, but is on the IUCN Red List. It is listed as vulnerable due to a population reduction of over 20% in the past three generations, caused by a decline in its natural range.
